Windy city live is Chicago’s top morning news and local event show.  I was honored to be asked to have my own segment, “Grace My Space”, as part of a recurring lifestyle segment. The concept was to announce on air that I was looking for a viewer to secretly send in a letter or video of someone they knew who always does for others but never for themself.

Once a viewer was chosen, we would then surprise them with a room makeover.  There’s no way to describe the joy it brings to me to have the opportunity to change someone’s life with this opportunity.

Some of our recipients included a homeless female veteran and her three children, who’s living room and kitchen were redone during the holidays and included a tree and presents; a suburban Chicago mom who collects clothing from her church and then, on Saturdays, goes downtown and hands them out to the homeless and needy; and a father of five who wanted to take back his living room from all the storage and clutter for his family to enjoy again.

With the help of some the nations top retailers and a host of local volunteers, together we were able to transform a home, and sometimes a life, in three days.
